ASAP Labour Hire is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for a full-time opportunity with a leading manufacturing organisation within the textiles and acoustic solutions industry, located across Essendon Fields and Heidelberg.
This role is ideal for a qualified Mechanical Fitter with previous manufacturing maintenance experience who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance, breakdown response, and working on fixed plant equipment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities across multiple Victorian sites.
Key responsibilities include:
• Performing mechanical maintenance on fixed plant and production equipment
• Completing preventative and scheduled maintenance activities
• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out fault diagnosis and repairs
• Troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimise production downtime
• Completing mechanical workshop tasks including machining, drilling, welding, and mechanical rebuilds
• Supporting maintenance improvement projects and site initiatives
• Recording maintenance activities accurately within maintenance systems
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Working across Essendon Fields and Heidelberg sites as required
• Participating in weekend maintenance activities and future rotating on-call arrangements when required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter within a manufacturing environment
• Full Australian Working Rights
• Strong mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
• Experience maintaining fixed plant equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong safety focus and commitment to quality workmanship
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
Highly regarded:
• Forklift Licence
• EWP Licence
• Working at Heights certification
• Welding and machining experience
